Libraries Introduce SLULINK
The goal of the Saint Louis University Libraries is to provide online access to information resources at anytime, anywhere.
SLULINK – a new online information portal – and the introduction of campus-wide wireless access have brought SLU Libraries a major step closer to realizing this dream.
Users can now visit the SLULINK.SLU.EDU portal page for one-stop shopping for all their online library information needs.
Go to SLULINK.SLU.EDU to search the new SLU Libraries Catalog, or to access one of our more than 25,000 online journals, download course readings, or simply browse the universe of well-organized information now just a click away.
Look for the Libraries SLULINK tables throughout campus during Welcome Week to learn more about SLULINK and to pick-up a free SLULINK key chain. Our partners from ITS will join us as they introduce campus wireless access.
Welcome From the University Librarian
Welcome to Saint Louis University!! You have made an excellent choice in deciding to attend one of the top research universities in the country to begin or continue your education. Within the University Libraries at SLU you will find top level librarians and staff to connect you with the information you need. We are here to support you in being successful in your academic career.
SLU has three libraries at its St. Louis campus and one library at the SLU campus in Madrid, Spain. Both the Pius XII Memorial Library and the Omer Poos Law Library are located on the Frost (North end) Campus. The Medical Center Library (MCL) is located on the Medical Center (South end) Campus. The SLU Libraries have extensive collections to support teaching, learning, researching, studying, and clinical care. Within each library, you will also find specialized collections. For example, the Vatican Film Library (located in the Pius XII Memorial Library) houses one of the richest collections of medieval and Renaissance manuscripts in the world.
Over the past year, each library has been working on improving and enriching information resources and services for you. To meet the increase in new student enrollment in the Medical School, the Medical Center Library has added 15+ wireless laptops, refreshed some furniture and added better lighting for studying. The Omer Poos Law Library redesigned its Web site into a gateway to legal information. Pius XII Memorial Library added wireless throughout the building, collaborated with MCL and Law to create a University Libraries Portal called SLULINK, and will be opening a café sometime this fall.
Our goal is to provide you with the information you need – anytime, anywhere – along with library buildings that are clean, quiet, and comfortable. We want to provide you with an environment conducive to study and research.
To reach this goal, we need to hear from you! Please feel free to contact me and/or attend one of the upcoming “Conversations” sessions to provide us with your input.
From those of us who work on your behalf at the University Libraries, welcome and enjoy your educational experience!
